Dental veneers are currently the optimal standard in state of the art cosmetic dentistry.
Dental veneers offer a fabulous result if you are looking to improve the shape, colour or overall cosmetic appearance of your teeth. This technique allows minimal, and sometimes no reduction, of your tooth structure. The semi-translucent porcelain shells are bonded to the tooth structure to provide a long lasting and magnificent smile.
At Sure Dental, Wavell Heights Brisbane we design your individual smile to suit you. You will meet with our Master Ceramist to discuss the ideal colour and shape for your beautiful smile. In some cases some patients choose to have teeth whitening before veneers so that they can achieve an overall whiter smile.
How to take care of your veneers
Looking after your veneers is not significantly different to how you would take care of your teeth before the procedure. You should still be flossing and brushing twice a day.
What are porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers are semi-translucent porcelain shells that are bonded on to the tooth structure to provide a long lasting and magnificent smile. Porcelain veneers look very natural and once bonded are incredibly strong.
What are composite veneers?
Composite veneers are veneers that are applied with a resin that hardens after a light is applied. They can be applied in one appointment and do not require significant removal of your tooth enamel. The surface of your teeth will normally just be roughened to improve the bond between the composite material and your teeth.
Which option is better for me?
We want our patients to be happy for as long as possible which means recommending the treatment that will give them the longest lasting results. When it comes to veneers this means recommending full porcelain veneers instead of composite veneers as they are generally more beneficial in the long run. Dr Ghobrial will take time to talk to you about your goals and ensure that you’re getting a solution that’s tailored to your needs.
