Teeth whitening is a safe and successful way to brighten your smile. If you have consumed a considerable amount of coffee, red wine and coke throughout the years then it’s likely that your teeth may be discoloured and even yellow or brown to an extent. Smoking can also cause discolouration and in lots of cases when people quit smoking for good they will turn to teeth whitening to erase all the signs of smoking in the past (although this can be trickier than whitening surface stains).
Also known as one-hour whitening, our state of the art Smartbleach Laser is preferred by those looking for an immediate effect. If you have a busy lifestyle and want your teeth whitened quickly, or if you have a specific event in mind, then this is most likely the treatment for you.
Using custom-made, carefully fitted trays you can complete the whitening process at home at a time convenient to you. In order to do this we will need to make custom moulds of your smile which are called whitening trays. You will then place a small amount of teeth whitening gel on each tooth in the tray so that it can be evenly dispersed.
At Sure Dental, we offer these two options for whitening so that you can choose a process that best suits you. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about our chosen whitening products, so please do not hesitate to contact us or ask us at your next appointment.
Teeth whitening is an investment and therefore you should protect this investment by taking care of your teeth after whitening. In order to do this you need to avoid foods and drinks that can stain your brightened smile – especially in the first few days after whitening them. This means avoiding sauces, curries, red wine and coffee as well as anything else that is rich in colour. Other than this we recommend drinking through a straw where possible and keeping up with your regular dental check-ups for a professional clean before tartar changes the colour of your teeth. At Sure Dental our patients who proceed with whitening receive a free annual refresher as a part of our regular hygiene programme, so you can be sure to keep that beautiful bright smile!
